Puritan was founded in 1927 by Mr. Walter J Charnley. Charnley was an inventor who was intrigued with machinery and equipment that could be used in the food chain. He patented several items including a batch process Grain Puffing Machine and a Molasses Mixer that had provisions for injecting molasses to a feed mix for cattle.
